Standard courses / summer courses German Courses at TANDEM Cologne run year round and are available at all levels. Courses consist of 20 45-minute lessons per week (20 + 2 during the summer) and take place from 10.00 am to 1.30 pm. Participants with prior knowledge of German are welcome to join our classes at any time; starting dates (except for beginners) are every Monday. Small groups of five to ten students per class guarantee that you will quickly and successfully progress, and soon improve your language skills in a relaxed and communicative environment. Our German courses are appropriate as exam preparation for the Zertifikat Deutsch, telc B2, telc C1, DSH or TestDaF examinations (admission requirements for German universities). TANDEM Cologne is also an examination centre for the European Language Certificates. These examinations are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages published by the Council of Europe. For an overview over the examinations offered please click on the link marked levels. Our registration fee covers the course confirmation, placement test, information package, certificate of attendance and class material in the form of photocopies as well as your first course book. We would also be glad to help you find a language exchange partner and /or accommodation in Cologne (no commission fees). The teaching material we use for our German classes are "Tangram aktuell" (published by Hueber, € 14,50) for levels A1 - B1 and, for B2 and above, "Mittelpunkt" (published by Klett, € 19,95). Both consist of a student's book and a workbook including an audio CD and can be purchased at our school. In addition to our regular German classes, students can take part in TANDEM Cologne's special Cultural Programme, offered at least once a week (three times a week during summer). This colourful programme has a variety of excursions and events to offer which take place in the afternoons or evenings (transportation and entry fees are not included in the price). |
