The entry requirement for studying at a German university is language proficiency at level C1. You can prove this with a TestDaF certificate. The paper-based exam consists of four parts: Reading, listening, writing and speaking. To pass, you must achieve TDN 4 in each section or have an overall average of TDN 4.
The paper-based TestDaF can be taken four times a year at TANDEM Cologne. Information about the exam, the exam dates and registration can be found at testdaf.de. And our preparation courses for the TestDaF exam will prepare you perfectly for the exam!
Together with proof of higher education entrance qualification (Abitur or comparable qualification abroad, alternatively an assessment test from the district government or a preparatory college), you can then apply for admission to study in Germany.
You can also increase your chances of studying at a German university by taking the TestASaptitude test. We offer this test at least twice a year. Information on dates and registration can be found here.
You can only register for these tests online via the TestDaF or TestAS portals. Participants in our TestDaF preparation courses can also reserve a place in the exam on request.
